Loring Park
Established in 1883, and originally named “Central Park”, Loring Park was named after the first president of the Minneapolis Park Board, Charles Loring.
This quintessential urban park and neighborhood is one of the most photographed settings in downtown Minneapolis. The iconic “Dandelion” fountain, formally known as the Berger Fountain, and its freshly renovated footbridge connecting the Walker and Mpls Sculpture Garden, Kenwood, and Lowry Hill to downtown Minneapolis are well recognized landmarks. The Loring Park neighborhood is noted for hosting the annual Twin Cities Pride Festival and some of the most impressive restaurants and architecture in downtown Minneapolis.
