NOW LET’S CHEERS!

NEGRONI SBAGLIATO

Thanks to the ever-growing popularity of the aperitivo movement, the Negroni Sbagliato is HOT. Translating to "screwed up Negroni", legend has it an Italian bartender went to reach for gin when making a classic Negroni, but grabbed sparkling wine instead, incidentally, crafting an airy, effervescent, and herbaceous sipper.

No different than the endless Negroni variations floating through the cosmos, so too does the Sbagliato lend itself to a number of delicious iterations.

Caperitif, a fortified and aromatized wine that was classic during the turn of the 20th century in the midst of the golden age of cocktails lay dormant for many years following prohibition but has since made a comeback thanks to a South African wine maker and a Danish Bartender. It brings a light, citrus forward, and playfully bitter edge to the growing category of fortified and aromatized wines. You'll notice aromas of grapefruit, rooibos, lemon verbena, and chamomile emanating from it. The simple addition of this delightful newcomer instead of sweet vermouth in a Negroni Sbagliato chips away at any notion of this cocktail being "screwed up".
